T section highlights are a simple way to brighten your colour without committing to a full head of foils. The lightening is focused through your parting and around the front, so you get that fresh, lifted look where it shows most, with a softer grow out that suits busy routines. Your colour is tailored to your natural base, your skin tone, and how often you want to be in the salon in Grange Park, Northampton.

More information

What T section highlights include

A focused highlighting appointment designed to look polished, wearable, and easy to maintain.

  • A clear consultation on your current colour, your goal, and what will suit your day to day
  • Foils placed through the top, typically along the parting and around the hairline
  • Lightening tailored to your hair condition and previous colour
  • Rinse, cleanse, and condition, then a finished style so you can see the result properly
  • Advice on toning, colour care, and a maintenance plan that feels realistic

When T section highlights are the right choice

This service is ideal if you want a noticeable lift at the front and top, without the time and upkeep of a full head.

It works well if you are:

  • Refreshing your highlights between bigger appointments
  • Trying highlights for the first time and want to keep it subtle
  • Looking to brighten around the face for a more open, rested look
  • Hoping to soften early greys through the parting area

What happens during the appointment

We start with a consultation, then section the hair and place foils through the T zone. We keep an eye on the lift as it develops, then rinse and finish your hair so the blend looks clean and natural.

Your appointment is usually around 120 minutes, depending on hair length, thickness, and what you have on your hair already. If a toner is recommended for the final shade, it is charged separately.

Aftercare and how often to refresh

T section highlights are known for a softer grow out, but the best timing depends on how bright you go and how quickly your hair grows. Many clients refresh every 8 to 12 weeks, with toner or gloss top ups in between if needed.

To keep your colour looking its best, we will talk you through simple at home care, like heat protection and the right shampoo for your tone. A patch test is required before colour in certain cases, and we will guide you through it in plenty of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between T section highlights and a full head of highlights?
T section highlights focus on the parting and around the hairline, where you see brightness most. A full head covers more of the hair for an all over lighter result, and usually needs more upkeep.
Will I need a toner after T section highlights?
Sometimes, yes, especially if you want a cooler, softer, or more refined finish. We will recommend it based on how your hair lifts on the day, and toner is charged separately.
How long do T section highlights last?
You will usually enjoy a fresh look for several weeks, with a softer regrowth than heavier highlighting. Many people book a refresh every 8 to 12 weeks, depending on contrast and personal preference.
Do I need a patch test for highlights?
If it is your first colour appointment, or it has been a while since your last one, you may need a patch test. We will let you know what is required before you come in.
Can T section highlights help blend greys?
They can soften the look of early greys through the parting and front by adding lighter pieces for a gentler contrast. If you want stronger coverage, we can talk through other colour options that suit your maintenance goals.
