Soak Off, Removal Of Hard Gel, not extensions, who it is for
This appointment is ideal if you have hard gel on your natural nails and you want a clean removal, either before a fresh set or for a break. It is also helpful if your gel has grown out and feels bulky, or if you are switching from hard gel to BIAB or gel polish.
If you have tips, extensions, or a full hard gel enhancement, you will usually need a different removal. If you are unsure, bring a quick photo when you book and we can point you in the right direction.
How hard gel is removed, without ripping or peeling
We start by filing down the top layers so the soak off can do the work. Once softened, the product is lifted away gently, little by little, rather than forced off.
Hard gel can vary by brand and thickness, so the process is adjusted to what is on your nails on the day. The aim is always the same, remove the product, keep the nail plate as intact as possible, and leave you with a smooth, tidy finish.
After removal, keeping nails strong and presentable
Your nails may feel lighter straight away, especially if you have been wearing hard gel for a while. We will finish with tidy shaping and oil, then you can choose your next step, reapply product, switch to a different system, or go natural for a bit.
If you are taking a break, using cuticle oil daily and wearing gloves for cleaning helps nails stay flexible and less prone to peeling.
